bwin is a gaming company organised in three business areas; sportsbetting, Online casino and Poker. During the period they employed around 4000 people with a yearle revenue of 3 billion euro. During late 2010 the company expanded organically as well as in market chares. As a CIO Johan was responsible for an organisation working with all IT functions from setting requirements, development of operations with people from over 50 different nationalities. A large scale development project was to establish a new electronic bank, in order to efficiently manage the large number of micro transactions within the three business areas. The work was done during agile development and rapid change of direction for goals and management control, in order to adapt to a rapidly changing market. During a year the project established a new bank with backoffice resulting in a reduction of transactional costs of 60%. Johan acted as a good leader and role model, creating an including work climate where staff could cooperate over organisational and cultural borders.
